The foot has 250,000 sweat glands, the highest concentration of sweat glands of the entire body. And those sweat glands can lead to excessive foot wetness (or Hyperhidrosis). And that can lead to foot odour.
Foot odour is caused when sweat and dead skin cells are broken down by naturally occurring bacteria. While sweat has no odour on its own, the bacteria that feed on it can produce strong, offensive odours that are noticeable to you and others. Closed shoes, socks made of synthetic materials and wearing shoes without socks can all contribute to the problem by trapping moisture and boosting bacterial growth and odour production.
Foot odour can be unpleasant, embarrassing, and an on-going problem. However, it can be treated effectively with proper care and Odor-Eater products designed for foot odour and wetness.
One step you can take is to develop a good foot health clean routine – bathe feet daily and scrub gently and thoroughly with antibacterial soap. Be sure to clean the entire foot, including between toes. Then dry feet completely.
Choose shoes and socks wisely. If possible, wear well-ventilated shoes, preferably with natural materials that let your feet breath better. And wear socks made from cotton or other absorbent materials. Try to avoid wearing the same shoes two days in a row. And store shoes in a location which allows them to air out and dry.
For shoes with removable insoles (shoe inserts), consider removing the insole after wearing to allow shoes to dry more quickly and thoroughly. Or depending on the shoe type, you may be able to replace the existing insole with an odour-destroying Odor-Eater insole like the Ultra-Comfort insoles. Odor Eaters insoles can replace an existing insole or simply be placed on top of an existing one.
Ultra-Comfort insoles are thin, allowing them to fit comfortable in dress or casual shoes.
How often you change Odor–Eaters insoles differs for each person. It depends how frequently you wear the shoes, environmental factors like heat and your own personal body chemistry. It’s best to change them when you notice that they no longer provide the protection you want, or they simply get worn out. Washing them is not recommended as it can reduce their effectiveness.

Odor-Eaters Insoles can work with our other products for even more protection in managing foot odour. Odor-Eaters Foot Powder and Spray Powder each contain three powerful odour-fighting ingredients to keep feet fresh and dry all day. And both can be applied directly to the foot, in socks, in shoes or any combination of the three.
For the treatment of athlete’s foot, consider Odor-Eaters anti-fungal Foot Spray Powder. It is most effective when sprayed directly on the feet (especially in the area around and between the toes). This max strength anti-fungal Foot Spray Powder prevents and treats most athlete’s foot with daily use.
